Business Central
Automatically create and populate purchase invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with GetInvoice.
Overview
GetInvoice can automatically create and populate purchase invoices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
Setting Up the Integration
In GetInvoice, navigate to Settings tab
Click + Add Account
on the Business Central card, this will trigger the Microsoft authentication flow
Select your organization and agree to the required permissions
Prerequisites
- An active Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central account
- Authorization for GetInvoice to access your Business Central organization
- Proper configuration of posting groups and payment terms in Business Central

GetInvoice integrates with Business Central to automate your purchase invoice management workflow. Our integration streamlines the process of entering receipts, bills, and invoices into Business Central while maintaining the security and accuracy of your financial data.

Vendor Information
Creates and updates vendor information automatically

Creates purchase invoice entries with full details
Original Documents
Attaches original receipt documents to purchase invoices
Authentication
- We use Microsoft's official OAuth 2.0 authentication system
- You explicitly grant permission through Microsoft's secure login
- GetInvoice never stores your credentials
- You can revoke access at any time through Microsoft Azure Portal
Once the account is connected, only new invoices will be forwarded to Business Central.
Data Flow
When you process an invoice or receipt through GetInvoice:
We extract the document information using AI
We check if the vendor exists in Business Central
- If new, we create a vendor profile
- If existing, we use the existing vendor
We match the expense to your chart of accounts:
- We use posting accounts for expense categorization
- We use default posting groups for new vendors
- We apply standard payment terms from your configuration
We create a purchase invoice entry with:
- Full transaction details
- Correct currency handling
- Proper posting groups
- Payment terms
We attach the original document to the purchase invoice
Currency Handling
- We respect your Business Central base currency
- For amounts in different currencies:
- We maintain original currency information
- We use Business Central's currency conversion
- We handle VAT and tax calculations according to your settings

Limitations
- We can only create purchase invoices
- We can't modify existing Business Central data
- We can't delete vendor profiles
- We don't sync historical data automatically
- We only access posting accounts for expense categorization
- New vendors are created with default posting groups
- If no matching expense account is found, entries use the default posting account
- Attachments are limited to supported file types in Business Central
